City Chic

Jacket: Helene Berman
Turtle Neck: JCP
Pants: H&M
Oxfords: Topshop

Playing with a colorful backdrop as I pose for a few outfit shots. I've been loving the minimal look lately, just featuring one or two statement pieces, today that piece is this amazing checkered jacket by Helene Berman. Wearing an all black outfit really allowed the jacket to stand out.

Underneath, I layered a ribbed turtle neck sweater and a pair of black skinny pants. On my feet I'm sporting a pair of oxfords, the perfect pair of stylish and comfortable shoes to run around the city in. Hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday!

Until next time,
Bye for now.

Muted

Sweater: Dad's
Shorts: Zara (similar style)
Boots: Zara
Pearl Studs: Target

My schedule seems to be getting more hectic as my college career is coming to an end. These past four years have taken me on quite the roller coaster. People always say you learn so much about yourself in college, and as corny as that sounds it is the absolute truth. This journey has given me time and space away from my comfort zone and has forced me to get to know Maya. I have come to realize that going through uncomfortable situations can only lead to growth and for this experience I will be forever grateful.

With that being said, finding the time to shoot for my blog took a hit for a moment, but now I'm back to posting Tuesday and Thursday uploads...hopefully ;-) For this look I am channeling a huge trend for the fall and winter seasons, and that is oversized sweaters on top of leather shorts. I love how effortless and chic this pairing is. Completing todays look, I will be stomping around town in my favorite patent boots with gold detailing.

It's fun sharing a few thoughts along with my #OOTD. Anywho, all outfit details are listed above, I hope you all enjoyed the look and are having a beautiful day.

Until next time,
Bye for now.

Take Me Back

Back to Spring that is.

The crisp colors and warm weather left me lusting for the return of my favorite season.

As 1950s fashion comes back in style, so too are the lovely silhouettes. There is something to be said about the comfort and ease provided by a full midi-skirt. Not to mention they are equally as beautiful on every body type. Both to compliment and contrast the drama of the skirt I threw on one of my favorite graphic tee's and a pair of cognac sandals. Very Spring, but more importantly Fall appropriate.

Modern Baroque

Hi there and welcome back. If you couldn't tell, leather and lace had a huge impact on my pieces of choice for this one. The top I'm wearing is actually a repurposed flirty skirt purchased from my all-time favorite site Asos. I LOVE Asos because they have such a great mix of high end big-ticketed items in addition to the more affordable yet still quality pieces (not to mention for me it's like a one stop shop when it comes to online shopping).

Now that summer has officially left and the chime of fall fills the air, I can't help but to literally feel the need to slip on a little faux leather to keep warm. For added oomph I decided to drape this rather lavish white coat over my shoulders, fancy.

I can only hope you all are having a wonderful Thursday...the weekend is almost here!

Checks to Balance

Top: Asos
Skirt: Topshop
Check Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Chuck Taylors
Sunnies: Quay

I'm not really one for excuses for my absence or long explanations that are really just cover ups for my laziness, so I'm just going to get on with the post and not waste anymore time :)

Hi guys and welcome back! In this pre-fall heat, I want to dress comfortably and casually for a day full of classes and running around. Starting off, the plan was to make this neon skirt the focal point of the outfit, however, it is a tad bit short, so I needed to throw this checkered shirt around my waste to balance the look and essentially cover myself. Walking around flashing innocent by-passers is not my idea of a good time. Finally, to keep things really casual and easy, I reached for a grey t-shirt, threw on my Chuck Taylors and I was out the door to take on a new adventure.

Today is a new day...Enjoy it!

Camo Stripes

Jacket: Zara
Sweater: Le Ciel
Camo Pants: Baldwin Denim
Pumps: Tibi
Chain: eBay

Hello friends and happy Thursday! With University finals taking up the majority of my time lately, I haven't found much time to dedicate to shooting proper post for the blog. The good news is with this semester winding down I should be back on track.

I've always been the kind of gal that loves throwing random pieces together and just making it work. This look mixes some of the best elements of the wild, tiger stripes and camouflage. I love the juxtaposition of the two prints, in my opinion they just clash so well. Camo is quickly becoming a new neutral in my wardrobe because you can pair it with nearly any solid or mild print and the final look always seems to meld so well.

The finishing touches include my staple leather look jacket, some gold and silver accessories and my favorite Tibi pumps.

Lab Day

Coat: Zara
Top: Asos
Skirt: Asos
Shoes: Zara

Hello all! It's been about a week since I last uploaded a new post, and oh how I've missed it! While I was home enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday I decided to go out with my sister and shoot a few new pictures for the blog.

For the base of this outfit I went with one of my favorite fit and flare skirts and tucked in a sheer top made of this really nice mesh material. The thing I like most about this top is that because it is sheer it allows you to expose those ultra feminine soft shell bras that are extremely comfortable and pretty. To add more interest, I then fitted a silver clasp belt around my waist. But overall, the real star of this look has to be my new stark white 'lab coat' from Zara. Winter white has been one of my favorite trends for quite some time now, and I'm happy to have added this piece to my collection.

Hope you all are enjoying the first few days of December!
Bye for now,

Maya Swan
