Muted

Sweater: Dad's
Shorts: Zara (similar style)
Boots: Zara
Pearl Studs: Target

My schedule seems to be getting more hectic as my college career is coming to an end. These past four years have taken me on quite the roller coaster. People always say you learn so much about yourself in college, and as corny as that sounds it is the absolute truth. This journey has given me time and space away from my comfort zone and has forced me to get to know Maya. I have come to realize that going through uncomfortable situations can only lead to growth and for this experience I will be forever grateful.

With that being said, finding the time to shoot for my blog took a hit for a moment, but now I'm back to posting Tuesday and Thursday uploads...hopefully ;-) For this look I am channeling a huge trend for the fall and winter seasons, and that is oversized sweaters on top of leather shorts. I love how effortless and chic this pairing is. Completing todays look, I will be stomping around town in my favorite patent boots with gold detailing.

It's fun sharing a few thoughts along with my #OOTD. Anywho, all outfit details are listed above, I hope you all enjoyed the look and are having a beautiful day.

Until next time,
Bye for now.

By a Daisy

Hello beautiful people and welcome back! I took a walk down a different path and ended up near a bed of daises. The beautiful scene inspired me to stop and capture a few moments in their presence.

A few months back, I found this beautiful suede pencil skirt at a local thrift store and I knew I had to have it. At the time I had nothing else like it in my wardrobe, so the intense fuchsia color really drew me in. Pencil skirts are so very flattering and they are the perfect length for everyday activities. On top, I wore this sporty black mesh shirt to make the look a tad more daring.

I finished off the look with my favorite pointed toe heels by L.A.M.B.

In the words of a close friend of mine "I bid you peace and positivity as you start your day."

March to the Beat

And another demanding week kicks off...

I am in love with the comfortability provided by this look. To me it's the perfect mix of looking pulled together without trying too hard.

Mixing sporty and feminine pieces is one of my favorite things to do, and it can work for pretty much any occasion. Find a reasonably fitted t-shirt that you like to wear on lazy days and pair it with a skirt, as I have done here. The juxtaposition between the two looks cool and easy going.

Keeping things pretty neutral, I grabbed for my khaki jacket, not sure why but it added something to the look.

No music playing?? March to the beat of your own drum.

Keep it Cas'

Keepin' it Casual is the name of the game.

There are some days where you just don't feel like getting dressed, and on those days I usually don't. BUT when you absolutely have to go out to take on the world, I like to throw on something cute and casual.

For me, a soft dress that drapes the body is always ideal. To give the dress more shape, I nipped it in at the waist with a cool slinky style belt. As it was a bit chilly out, I slipped some socks under my loafers, grabbed my favorite faux leather jacket and out the door I went.

Velvet Ranger

I'm channeling my inner Indiana Jones today, as the hat is definitely the focus of this look.

To complement the jewel tone colors of nature this season, I carried them over into my outfit. For this look I wore a very comfy golden top and tucked it into a pair of camo denim. Printed bottoms are a staple in my wardrobe because I love to mix and match patterns.

I'd been lusting over this crushed velvet coat for over a year, but could not bring myself to fork out the money. A few weeks ago I finally bit the bullet and purchased this amazing piece. This coat is not only beautiful, it's very hefty to boot, well worth the money.

I completed the look with these beauties by L.A.M.B.

Hat: Asos
Coat: Gypsy Junkie
Top: Zara
Jeans: Baldwin Denim
Pumps: L.A.M.B Oxley

And remember kids...until next time.

Simple.

Not everyday calls for edgy extravagance. As the title suggest, today's look is effortlessly simple. The last few days in Richmond have been very warm, almost as if the summer heat were making a comeback.

For this combination I ditched the jacket and went with a couple noir essentials. I feel as though you can never go wrong with a lightweight camisole and black faux leather skirt for many reasons, but the main one being that they are staples in every woman's wardrobe. On a night out with good friends and good food, this perfect pairing is sure to impress.

Linear Style

A Tuesday never looked so good. On this lovely day I have decided to play up some masculine pieces for fall. I don't like to put myself in a 'style box', so I switch up my look quite often. One of my favorite things to wear during the colder months is a nice thick sweater, preferably one with a crazy graphic or bold pattern/texture. Once I saw the geometric lines on this sweater, I knew I had to have it.

Continuing with the masculinity of this look, I layered a button-up underneath the sweater, and finished the look with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. For a touch of femininity, I decided to wear these suede and leather pumps from Topshop.

Take Me Back

Back to Spring that is.

The crisp colors and warm weather left me lusting for the return of my favorite season.

As 1950s fashion comes back in style, so too are the lovely silhouettes. There is something to be said about the comfort and ease provided by a full midi-skirt. Not to mention they are equally as beautiful on every body type. Both to compliment and contrast the drama of the skirt I threw on one of my favorite graphic tee's and a pair of cognac sandals. Very Spring, but more importantly Fall appropriate.
