Chipped Away

Jacket: Asos
Sweater: H&M
Skirt: Missguided
Bag: Urban Outfitters
Boots: Zara

The holiday season is over and the New Year has rung in, and with that I bring in a new post. 2014 was a great year for me, having earned my undergraduate degree, I am more than ready and open for the next chapter of my life to commence. All of the struggles from last year are behind me, and I am confident this year will be a beautiful one full of great things.

About a month ago I went to New York for the first time and this was one of the looks I packed to wear, but as the weather was horrible that weekend, I never got a chance to pull it out. As many of you may have noticed by now, I like to dress relatively casual day by day unless I feel the need to do otherwise.

Nothing is more comfortable than large chunky knits. I layered this one on top of my favorite jersey pencil skirt from Missguided. For some added warmth, I threw on a new favorite, my khaki bonded coat. Gold banded boots complete this look, all while adding some opulence.

Happy New Year beautiful people,
Bye for now.

City Chic

Jacket: Helene Berman
Turtle Neck: JCP
Pants: H&M
Oxfords: Topshop

Playing with a colorful backdrop as I pose for a few outfit shots. I've been loving the minimal look lately, just featuring one or two statement pieces, today that piece is this amazing checkered jacket by Helene Berman. Wearing an all black outfit really allowed the jacket to stand out.

Underneath, I layered a ribbed turtle neck sweater and a pair of black skinny pants. On my feet I'm sporting a pair of oxfords, the perfect pair of stylish and comfortable shoes to run around the city in. Hope you all are enjoying your Tuesday!

Until next time,
Bye for now.

Keep it Cas'

Keepin' it Casual is the name of the game.

There are some days where you just don't feel like getting dressed, and on those days I usually don't. BUT when you absolutely have to go out to take on the world, I like to throw on something cute and casual.

For me, a soft dress that drapes the body is always ideal. To give the dress more shape, I nipped it in at the waist with a cool slinky style belt. As it was a bit chilly out, I slipped some socks under my loafers, grabbed my favorite faux leather jacket and out the door I went.

I hope you all are having as beautiful a day as I am,
and until next time.

Velvet Ranger

I'm channeling my inner Indiana Jones today, as the hat is definitely the focus of this look.

To complement the jewel tone colors of nature this season, I carried them over into my outfit. For this look I wore a very comfy golden top and tucked it into a pair of camo denim. Printed bottoms are a staple in my wardrobe because I love to mix and match patterns.

I'd been lusting over this crushed velvet coat for over a year, but could not bring myself to fork out the money. A few weeks ago I finally bit the bullet and purchased this amazing piece. This coat is not only beautiful, it's very hefty to boot, well worth the money.

I completed the look with these beauties by L.A.M.B.

Hat: Asos
Coat: Gypsy Junkie
Top: Zara
Jeans: Baldwin Denim
Pumps: L.A.M.B Oxley
Watch: Michael Kors
Jewelry: Nasty Gal and H&M

And remember kids...until next time.
Bye for now,

Linear Style

A Tuesday never looked so good. On this lovely day I have decided to play up some masculine pieces for fall. I don't like to put myself in a 'style box', so I switch up my look quite often. One of my favorite things to wear during the colder months is a nice thick sweater, preferably one with a crazy graphic or bold pattern/texture. Once I saw the geometric lines on this sweater, I knew I had to have it.

Continuing with the masculinity of this look, I layered a button-up underneath the sweater, and finished the look with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. For a touch of femininity, I decided to wear these suede and leather pumps from Topshop.

Nature Stud

Hello beautiful people. Happy Tuesday!

Plates and Zippers are always fun to have on your clothes, as are mixed metals. As you can see, I went a little metallic crazy today. This duo-style knitted sweater is not only very cool to look at, it's also extremely warm. Not sure if the fully functional zips were added for ventilation purposes or simply for decorative reasons, but either way they are much appreciated. The zippers on the knit add some detail and interest.

I paired the white knit with this impressive stud and zipper jeweled skirt.

May you recognize the passion and the possibility in your day today and have the courage to follow it
