Chipped Away

Jacket: Asos
Sweater: H&M
Skirt: Missguided
Bag: Urban Outfitters
Boots: Zara

The holiday season is over and the New Year has rung in, and with that I bring in a new post. 2014 was a great year for me, having earned my undergraduate degree, I am more than ready and open for the next chapter of my life to commence. All of the struggles from last year are behind me, and I am confident this year will be a beautiful one full of great things.

About a month ago I went to New York for the first time and this was one of the looks I packed to wear, but as the weather was horrible that weekend, I never got a chance to pull it out. As many of you may have noticed by now, I like to dress relatively casual day by day unless I feel the need to do otherwise.

Nothing is more comfortable than large chunky knits. I layered this one on top of my favorite jersey pencil skirt from Missguided. For some added warmth, I threw on a new favorite, my khaki bonded coat. Gold banded boots complete this look, all while adding some opulence.

Happy New Year beautiful people,
Bye for now.

Classics

Blazer: JCP
Sweater: Marshalls
Pants: TJ Maxx
Scarf: H&M
Loafers: Urban Outfitters

As my graduation date creeps closer and closer, the fact is setting in that soon I will not long be a college student, but a young professional. The thought of this is frightening at times but also very exciting. A whole new set of experiences and adventures await.

With that being said, I have decided to pull out some work appropriate attire today. As the winter chill has set in quite early this year, I layered up for this look. I recently purchased this really soft and warm sweater from Marshalls by the brand French Connection. This piece has neutral color blocked sleeves that you cannot see here, but the added detail definitely influenced this buy. On top of that I wore a tweed blazer that has been in my wardrobe for quite some time. The weave of the blazer incorporates all of those classic neutral colors with hints of bolder hues, making it a real stand out piece in my opinion.

I went with another classic pattern for my trousers, and that would be a plaid. I love a versatile piece, and a gray plaid pant works well with many different colors and styles. Loafers were my shoe of choice today, and for added warmth I slipped on an infinity scarf from H&M.

Bye for now.

Checks to Balance

Top: Asos
Skirt: Topshop
Check Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Chuck Taylors
Sunnies: Quay

I'm not really one for excuses for my absence or long explanations that are really just cover ups for my laziness, so I'm just going to get on with the post and not waste anymore time :)

Hi guys and welcome back! In this pre-fall heat, I want to dress comfortably and casually for a day full of classes and running around. Starting off, the plan was to make this neon skirt the focal point of the outfit, however, it is a tad bit short, so I needed to throw this checkered shirt around my waste to balance the look and essentially cover myself. Walking around flashing innocent by-passers is not my idea of a good time. Finally, to keep things really casual and easy, I reached for a grey t-shirt, threw on my Chuck Taylors and I was out the door to take on a new adventure.

Today is a new day...Enjoy it!
Bye for now,

Maya Swan
